An exceedingly rare Swedish double album (all here on 1 CD) from 1972, reissued in a nice gatefold digipack with a booklet. Guitars, Hammond organ (including a guest shot by Bo Hansson), saxes, flutes, bass, drums and some vocals.

“"The reissue that everybody in to the Swedish 60s-70s underground scene has been waiting for but never thought would be re-released due to contractual difficulties but here it is now. One of the most legendary and sought after of all Swedish 1970s LPs. Long tracks with

Flat Earth Society was founded in 1998, when clarinetist and composer and producer Peter Vermeersch, wanted to explore new horizons after his bands Maximalist! and the cult legend band X-legged Sally.Vermeersch assembled a pack of inspired and inimitable musicians, forming a big band which has nowadays become much more than just a big band.
This album is ostensibly their tribute to Frank Zappa, and it is, in terms of creative music, but only three of the tracks are covers of Frank's work and one of...

“12 tracks recorded live in 2012 at LOD - Muziek Theater of Gent.
Flat Earth Society, a speaker (Josse de pauw) and a soprano singing (Rolande Van der Paal) detail the fate of an iceberg in 1912. From her spectacular birth (it's a she) in Jakobshavn to her unmarked disappearance in the north Atlantic ocean, and in between some incident with a luxurious ocean liner. Boat sank, berg melted, the universe will not budge.”...

“Excellent progressive hard rock from Norway with that typical cold scandinavian sound. The guitars are heavy and vocals are clear and sometimes evil-inspired. Underrated album.”-RYM

“These tracks are from an FM broadcast from the Carousel Ballroom in S.F. in 1968. This is the quartet from the period when the band's first album was released to good acclaim, with Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood. The overall sound is good/maybe very good considering the source but lacks a bit of presence and with a slight loss of dynamics. But the recording has plenty of room for each instrument and the vocals, with no intrusive background hiss.”

“Over the course of 1969 and 1970, their live performances would reach stratospheric heights as the group began exploring music outside the traditional blues format. Fleetwood Mac's live intensity level dramatically increased which captivated American audiences.
This set is unique among shows from this era as it not only contains some of the incendiary jamming they had been developing over the course of the past year.”

“Having formed in 1967, Peter Green s Fleetwood Mac swiftly established themselves as Britain s pre-eminent blues act, edging out even John Mayall (in whose band Green had previously played). Over the course of 1968 they performed numerous remarkable sessions for broadcast by the BBC on radio and TV, which are gathered here. Spanning classic blues, rock n roll covers, their own brand of musical parody, and classic compositions by Green, the set is a superb cross-section of their work to that point, and...

Reasonably good bootleg sound on this January 4, 1970 concert, recorded at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, California, on the last US tour by the Peter Green-led version of Mac, which by this time featured a 3 guitar, bass, drums line-up.
I think that Mac, along with Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience were THE great triumvirate of 60s 'blues influenced' psychedelic rock bands. Sadly, their greatness was never fully captured on album, but some of this comes close...

"Japan's proggers Flied Egg, consisting of former Strawberry Path alumni Shigeru Narumo and Hiro Tsunoda, supported by former Brush leader, Masayoshi Takanaka, released two albums in the early '70s, Dr. Siegel's Fried Egg Machine being the first and undoubtedly the better of the two. Dr. Siegel's..., originally released in 1972, is a much more keyboard-oriented affair, with Narumo adding a Moog, celeste and harpsichord to his usual Hammond and piano line-up. On this album, the musical influences are more...

This is a very, very obscure (although not particularly rare), US progressive rock album by a band who released three albums between 1975-1980. This is the first-ever, legitimately licensed from masters, reissue of their 2nd, from 1976....

“An intriguing and impressive new offering from Floating Points. This is less fragile than some of Sam Shepherd's more recent work and charts a further chapter in the twisting growth of his idiosyncratic musical style and sound design. His electronic compositions navigate through a myriad of textures: minimalist backdrops, emotive refrains that approach almost orchestral intensity, skittish rhythms that seem on the verge of losing control, modulating synth work that shifts between serene and piercing...

"It is an interesting question how old 'free jazz' is. At some point, even a theme and a plan became optional. In the ESP-Disk' catalog, 'Taneou' on the Giuseppi Logan Quartet's eponymous album sounds like this approach of complete freedom starting from scratch; it was recorded on November 11, 1964. Joe McPhee, in 1967, appeared on Clifford Thornton's album Freedom and.

"I was first drawn to this Swedish collective by their most fortunate choice of the group name Flowers Must Die. However, despite this moniker, Flowers Must Die will not likely make you recall Ash Ra Tempel, and especially not the "Schwingungen" album. Mainly because there isn't some madman screaming "Flowers Must Die - Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!". And there isn't much Krautrock here unless you count a steady rhythm, which recalls an entirely different branch of the genre.

Gabby Fluke-Mogul – violin

"The most striking sound in improvised music in years..."

“LOVE SONGS by gabby fluke-mogul is a record of seventeen violin compositions for improvisation devoted to the multitudinous hues of intimacy.”

“New York violinist gabby fluke-mogul is unabashedly experimental on this solo album recorded last summer. Employing extended techniques (rubbing, scraping, sawing, tapping), they extract a full spectrum of unconventional sounds from this conventional instrument. Coupled with occasional vocalizations, threshold is an exhilarating ride.” AMN reviews

“Intense, uncompromising music that effortlessly blasts down the stylistic barriers separating free jazz skronk, hardcore punk and grindcore / black metal fury.
"Gods Of Chaos" is an astoundingly detailed and ambitious work, a 45 minute epic, that musically illustrates the events leading up to the end of the human race. Recorded on 9 planets, but released on just one.”

“Terror Iridescence is the 4th full length release by the latter-day, New York City based reincarnation of the seminal Punk Jazz/No Wave/Brutal Prog unit The Flying Luttenbachers, and the 17th album since 1992. After all of this, longtime fans tend to expect...

“The seventh album from Chicago's notorious punk-jazz group nails a new high water mark in an already unforgettable discography. "The Truth..." finds the Luttenbachers at their darkest - a band distilled to it's most raw and sore - interspread are hyper-structural epics, minimalist noisescapes, high energy free jazz blows and bizarre electronic satellite transmissions.”

Includes the band’s earliest recording of the Magma classic, De Futura (short version).

"Philosopher, musician and anti-art activist, Henry Flynt has long foregone the academicism often associated with “serious music” in favor of a uniquely intuitive, emotional approach to composition. In the 1960s and 1970s he was a part of NYC’s vibrant avant-garde scene, studying with Hindustani singer Pandit Pran Nath and developing his own proprietary technique on violin.
You Are My Everlovin’, Flynt’s first published musical work, finds the composer in peak form, recorded live at Inroads, New York

"This is a great album. FM were often compared to their Canadian brethren Rush, and that was both fair and unfair. Like Rush, FM were a power trio that walked the line between progressive rock and pop tendencies. Unlike Rush, FM had no guitar player...

"I think once you get past the opening track "Rocket Roll" (which I think is silly and FM's worst song), the rest of the album contains my favorite music that FM ever did. The one-two punch of the very moving "Horizons" segueing into the energetic "Random Harvest" is for me, FM's high point. "Seventh Heaven" is also very good. "Sofa Back" reminds one of Rush's YYZ (except this was released 2 years before Rush's Moving Pictures album which contained YYZ). This album also shows FM in a vein that Rush did...

This is the first new FM album in over 25 years!

"Transformation is a very apt title for Canadian Prog veterans FM, for not only has their music transformed numerous times over the years, so has their line-up.
