An exceedingly rare Swedish double album (all here on 1 CD) from 1972, reissued in a nice gatefold digipack with a booklet. Guitars, Hammond organ (including a guest shot by Bo Hansson), saxes, flutes, bass, drums and some vocals.
“"The reissue that everybody in to the Swedish 60s-70s underground scene has been waiting for but never thought would be re-released due to contractual difficulties but here it is now. One of the most legendary and sought after of all Swedish 1970s LPs. Long tracks with extended jams and superb acid guitar voyages. Comes with the original (that was censored on most original copies) sleeve.”
"Sweden at the beginning of the 1970's, like Germany close by, had an exciting music scene where American and British trends were being ignored. Here the bands were not shackled by commercialism and could pursue the freedom to explore all sorts of combinations of styles. In this environment, bands such as Algarnas Tradgard, Samla Mammas Manna, Kebnekaise and International Harvester produced a very exciting rock culture filled with creative ideas. All appeared on the Silence label, the Swedish equivalent of Germany's Ohr label."-Gnosis/Tom Hayes
"When appraising the musical abilities of the early artists who recorded for Silence, Fläsket Brinner (Burning Pork Fat) rate highly. Their first album...contains long and short (pieces) that easily shifted from folk music to heavy progressive, from jazz to variety music and from pre-written music to disciplined improvisation...Flasket (1972) was an even better effort with improved sound quality."-Scented Gardens Of The Mind.
