Stephen O’Malley : acoustic guitar, oscillator

Orange vinyl, one-sided EP, with etching on the reverse side. Comes in clear PVC sleeve. LP is new/unplayed but due to packaging choice, may have slight surface noise. Maybe not, but that’s just how it goes with LPs packaged like this.

“A great piece of drone from Stephen O'Malley... oscillating organ with Electrics shearing through the psychedelic mist. Sounds great played back at either 45 or 33 rpm! :)”-Discogs

“Inspired drone...

“Sept duos pour guitar acoustique et piano préparé is the second duo recording from Stephen O'Malley and Anthony Pateras. Their first together, Rêve Noir (2018), took an electro-acoustic scalpel to a 2011 duo concert for electric guitar and piano, using Revox and digital treatments to twist and smear gig documentation into ghostly echoes and fractured drones. Here, in contrast, the music is entirely acoustic and presented as it was performed, without overdubs. Both players' choices of instruments are...

"Insignificance consists of rock plus multiple musical allusions, layers of discreet noises, great playing from all the players and, to top it off, funny pop tunes laced with lyrical arsenic. As the moving finger of O'Rourke points (and clicks...just kidding! Insignificance is an all-analog affair), moments will come and go -- to remind you of other moments. Moments will arrive that have no precedent. And different, conflicting emotions will flash within you. He'll have total control of you, the...

“Second in a series of three records of Library Music miniatures from composer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel O'Sullivan (Æthenor, Ulver, This Is Not This Heat, Guapo, etc) following 2020's Electric Māyā.
For heads, the term "Library Music" in 2021 might evoke dodgy Italian gray market LPs and crate-diggers hunting for "funky breaks"-but London's venerable KPM Music is working with groundbreakers like O'Sullivan to open up new avenues for composers to experiment with.
Fourth Density's fifteen.

Limited edition of only 500 made. The fantasy artwork of the cover of this was made for vinyl!

Greatly awaited second album from this offshoot/heir to the Happy The Man crown. The band is now a four piece, with Stan Whittaker's guitar and vocals...

Mali Obomsawin - bass, lead vocals, hand drum
Savannah Harris - drums, vocals

Miriam Elhajli - acoustic and electric guitars, lead vocals
Allison Burik - bass clarinet, alto saxophone, vocals
Noah Campbell - tenor, soprano, alto saxophones
Taylor Ho Bynum - cornet, flugelhorn

“A suite for Indigenous resistance, the new album from Wabanaki bassist, composer, and songwriter Mali Obomsawin flies in the face of Western tropes that insist Indigenous cultures are monolithic

“Limited Edition Vinyl LP album. Heavyweight, 180g, Blue Splatter Vinyl. Each one is unique. No two LPs will be the same. Limited run of only 300. Includes full colour, lyric printed inner sleeve.”

“Many moons ago, Heather Findlay & Angela Gordon met in their late teens as band mates in the up and coming progressive rock group Mostly Autumn.
Cutting their rock and roll teeth together, they toured the world and wrote songs that naturally featured parts for one another to play and sing, as each...

“OF NEW TROLLS ‘highly anticipated double album is out today! ‘The Roots And The Journey Continues’ contains eleven previously unreleased tracks accompanied by six original historical tracks by the New Trolls. Nico di Palo and Gianni Belleno continue the journey.

The statement of the band
“‘The roots and the journey continues’ officially comes out today. It took more than a year of work, between pandemics, restrictions and lock-downs. In the end we succeeded and we are proud to let you...

"One of 2016's strangest, most hypnotic and charming albums of experimental synth-electronic music was volume 1 from Off World, about which Boomkat said "a stellar new project headed by Sandro Perri, one of the most singular producers in contemporary music; featuring some of the most inventive, spellbinding work in his catalogue. One of the most original and satisfying albums we've heard this year - can't wait to see what the next installments bring." This is the next installment, fittingly titled 2...

Limited numbered vinyl edition of the group’s second and most obscure album, due to it being a film soundtrack!

"Who in 1973 would have thought that the recordings on the just-released soundtrack was the genesis of one of Quebec's favorite bands as we know it? In fact, this album (one of the least promoted of Offenbach's discography dates back to 1970, when band manager Lucien Menard orchestrates their fateful meeting with poet/musician/songwriter Pierre Harel, who was also working with Menard...

A beautiful illustration deserves a deluxe treatment and that's certainly what you get with this beautiful double lp, gatefold version of this 'lost for 20 years' album...

Originally released on the AYAA label, this has been out of print for many, many, many years (one many for each decade). This is a perfect reproduction of the original, but better pressed this time!

“Coming out of left field this, is - to say the least – enigmatic; it’s also confident and full of detail, with some 30 musical contributors, constantly changing instrumentation and shifting musical styles, making it musically uncategoriseable.
Loosely hung on the work of British composer, improviser and political activist, Cornelius Cardew, it mixes references and re-figurings of some of his work, as well as one straight rendition (Winter Potato No.3) using, apart from almost conventional song...

"Wewantsounds presents the release of Touch, a selection of sought-after tracks produced by Yuji Ohno, one of the most revered producers and arrangers on the Nippon music scene. His blend of jazz, space funk and disco have long been sought-after by DJs around the world and Wewanstounds has been given unique access to the Nippon Columbia vaults and to Mr. Ohno himself to come with a versatile selection from his '70s body of work, all bearing his uniquely recognizable sound. The set includes works with...

Dewey Redman - tenor sax, musette
Don Cherry - pocket trumpet
Charlie Haden double bass
Ed Blackwell - drums

A total classic from 1990, available again.

“Old and New Dreams was a legendary quartet and possibly one the most important line-up in the post-Ornette Coleman continuum! Recorded live in Atlanta in 1987 and first released in 1990, their second Black Saint release stands as the group final statement. A high-quality recording capturing an outstanding performance as...

"Few other musicians have been able to mix and blend folk, blues, psychedelia together as Oliver has managed to do" --Ricardo Martillos (Distorsioni).

"Like a rustic, ramshackle mix between Electric Ladyland and No Pussyfooting" --Giacomo Checcucci (Pincopanco).

"A truly remarkable record" --Galactic Ramble.

“Part-time farmer/musician Oliver Chaplin is the person behind one of the rarest private pressings from the UK. His cult masterpiece Standing Stone was recorded in...

Originally released on vinyl only by Hat Hut in the mid 80s and never re-printed until now and never available in any other format! Reissued in a gatefold sleeve with extensive liner notes.

“Pauline Oliveros was an electronic music pioneer, accordionist, composer and educator who resided in Kingston, New York. Her instrument was tuned in Just Intonation and she often included it in her meditative improvisational music. Her music is not meditative in the sense that it is intended for listening...

"On some level, music, sound consciousness and religion are all one, and she would seem to be very close to that level."-John Rockwell

Pauline Oliveros and Guy Klucevsek's Sounding / Way was originally released on cassette in 1986 and has been out of print ever since. This LP was cut by John Golden and pressed at RTI in order to achieve a quiet, dynamic pressing.
The Sounding / Way concept was simple: Each artist would write a piece for two accordions and then they would perform them...

“Instrumental music to sink in...”

When this was originally released in the 90s, it was a revelation and now it is issued on vinyl for the very first time.
Fantastic, keyboard-dominated album from Sweden. You will swear that you are listening to outtakes from Bo Hansson's Lord Of The Rings. Really! It's genuinely that good!

“The first solo-venture of sonic-wizard Björn Olsson, composer, producer and former guitarist / founder of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Union Carbide...

“Omega, the most successful Hungarian prog rock band, released their best material in the 70s, and "Time Robber" is considered the musical highlight of Omega's discography. The heart of the LP is the title track, flanked by "House Of Cards Part I & II". The nearly 13-minute work encapsulates exactly what Omega was all about in 1976: progressive space rock mixed with hard rock elements.”

This is a vinyl-only release, by a Spanish quartet, which is released in a numbered, limited edition of only 500! Really great artwork by Galician artist Iria Rodriguez.

This is very much a psychedelic-progressive/retro-styled release. Knowing...

"Oneohtrix Point Never's Age Of is an album of new music from the renowned musician. It’s Daniel Lopatin’s most cohesive and richly composed work to date weaving a tapestry of disparate musical histories — early music, country and folk balladry, melodic pop, computer music and much, much more — demonstrating both the complexity and range of the artist's repertoire. With sounds that are unsettlingly familiar and uniquely his own Age Of guides us through an unclassifiable new world."

Excellent, contemporary Japanese art-punk sounds. It’s simultaneously kind of basic while being musically tricky and is a bit of a small classic of its kind, I think!

“Nijimusi is the 8th release from OOIOO. Led by YoshimiO, they're a band that has stayed relevant long past many of their contemporaries thru constant re-inventions & explorations. It's recorded with a more traditional rock set up of two guitars, bass & drums, but thanks to an improvisational recording process and technical prowess...

Opeth started their life as a metal band, but they have always spoken very highly of progressive rock and, over the last few years, have flirted more and more closely with the genre.

Well, years of flirtation has finally led to an exclusive....

"Art pop collective The Opium Cartel return after their much-acclaimed debut with their sophomore effort "Ardor". Featuring a stellar cast including No-Man/Henry Fool's Tim Bowness and Stephen Bennett, White Willow/Änglagård drummer Mattias Olsson, as well as members of Wobbler, Jaga Jazzist and Pixel, not to mention two of Norway's foremost vocal talents; Venke Knutson and Alexander Stenerud. The project is helmed by White Willow guitarist/songwriter Jacob Holm-Lupo. While continuing the atmospheric...

“The Opium Cartel is songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jacob Holm-Lupo’s vehicle for songs that exist somewhere between sophisti-pop, art-rock and synth pop. Holm-Lupo is otherwise known for his progressive rock band White Willow and more recently his instrumental giallo-rock project Telepath.
The Opium Cartel’s 3rd album, Valor, is a record about naïve but brave dreams. These are songs about the hubris and optimism of childhood and youth. That period of life where everything seems sure to happen just..

Rare, one-off, 1970 album originally released on Bellaphon. "You have to really like the Hammond organ because with this recording you are going to get a lot of it. Jazzy fuzz organ with a lot of discordant tunes. The lead guitar is along for the...

“Orang-Utan were in fact a London based band called Hunter, featuring vocalist Terry "Nobby" Clarke (of psych-pop legends Jason Crest), guitar player Mick Clarke, drummer and songwriter Jeff Seopardi, and bass player Paul Roberts.
They recorded their sole album in 1971 at DeLane Lea studios. In a bizarre twist of events, their producers/managers ran with the tapes to the US, where they placed the album on Bell Records under a new band name: Orang-Utan, without telling any of the band members....

Sixth great release from this unique, Geneva-based big band who blends folk, krautrock, post-punk, and African rhythms, delivering an emotionally charged yet exuberant listening experience and who are huge fun to see.

“Helmed by Geneva-based Vincent Bertholet, the orchestra's ever-evolving lineup and distinctive sound pay homage to both African music traditions and avant-garde artist Marcel Duchamp, while pushing the boundaries of contemporary music. Recorded over ten days in the outskirts of...

Wendy Eisenberg – guitar
Ava Mendoza - guitar
Bill Orcutt - guitar
Shane Parish - guitar

“I first saw the quartet in San Francisco a few months before this double live LP was recorded. I was already familiar with the prowess of Eisenberg and Mendoza, two of the most technically intimidating shredders to blast out of the noise/improv underground, and knew Parish as the mastermind behind the epic translation of Orcutt's quartet recordings into a fully notated score. I was ready to be..

First-time vinyl release for this 2000 album.

“The formation OREGON has surely been well-known to most jazz and classical music enthusiasts. During the past 50+ years of band history, OREGON has become a synonym for genre-crossing music of the finest. Emerging in 1970 from the legendary Paul Winter Consort, OREGON combined elements of jazz with those of symphonic classical music and what is known today under the makeshift term "world music". Despite their music defying classification OREGON has...

This prolific and excellent space-rock band present their latest and greatest, until they put out 3-4 more latest and greatest this year!
As always with OSC, this is a winner!

“'Everyone Is Evil' is the Oresund Space Collective's's 40th release. This session took place in Sept. 2022 and collected up a number of top musicians to create several albums of progressive, psychedelic, world music and space rock!
The track 'Everyone Is Evil' is an epic 64 minutes track that takes the listener on an intense journey through different universes and a bit of Can, Magma and other bands but in their own unique way...

“The Scandinavian Space Rock super group are back with their 33rd release. The lp features one 62min track split over 3 album sides., that we recorded in the studio back in 2014. The same session that gave us the Different Creatures and Visions of, LPs and features some of the best musicians ...

A mostly Scandanavian space-rock/space-progressive collective in existence for nearly 20 years and with a huge number of studio and live releases, these folks are the real deal and are too little known to fans of the genre. Hopefully this, their 44th release (!) and their first on a label (yay, Ken!), will gain them a bit of the attention they absolutely deserve! These guys are always recommended by me!

“Pressed on yellow and green vinyl and limited to 197 handnumbered copies.
The music on this album was recorded during the October 2008 sessions that gave us the 'Dead Man In Space' and 'Slip Into The Vortex' releases. 'Sleeping With The Sunworm' is a 56 minutes space rock jam (originally released on CD in 2011), which is split into three parts for ease of play. It starts very slow heavy and spacey with a massive sound, before the track heads into new directions with some beautiful guitar. An up...

“In November 2017, Oresund Space Collective and Black Moon Circle played a show in Trondheim, Norway called 'Freak Out In The Fjord', which also featured the local band Red Mountains.
The next day they were booked into the excellent Ora Studio, one of the best in Trondheim, for a jam session. It took a few hours to set up all the gear (2 guitar set ups, 2 bass..

"The new album entitled ClassicOrme is a reinterpretation with classical instruments of some of the most famous songs of Le Orme that best suit to the "new look". The artistic producer is Michi Dei Rossi assisted by Cristiano Roversi for the technical part, the executive producer Enrico Vesco.
The vocals, and this is the true characteristic of this album, will be led by Eero Lasorla (Finland) content and Marta Centurioni (Italy) the soprano; instrumental parts were entrusted to a string quintet....

IMPORTANT NOTE: THESE COPIES ALL HAVE SMALL/MEDIUM TOP SEAM SPLITS. It is what it is.

This is a beautiful, numbered, limited edition of this classic, mastered from the original tapes on 180 gram vinyl in a beautiful gatefold sleeve.

"Collage, Le Orme's first progressive album and third overall, is a stripped-down affair with only organ, piano, bass and drums. The exception is the opening title track which could be considered the bridge between their psych and prog compositions

Important: Sadly these have a top seam split. They aren't awful, but it's there and we can't pretend it isn't there! Caveat!!

Hand numbered edition of 600 copies!
In the mid 90s, after a 10 year silence, Le Orme came out of nowhere with a new line up (2 new keyboardists + bassist/guitarist/vocalist Aldo Tagliapietra & drummer Michi Dei Rossi) and a very fine reunion album, Il Fiume.
Elementi was their follow up to that one and it's another very good release in the Italian

"Le Orme's fifth release, Felona e Sorona, is generally considered their masterwork...As with any ambitious project such as this, there is plenty for the listener to sink their teeth into. Many dynamic changes between the singer-songwriter tendencies of Aldo Tagliapietra and the bombastic keyboards of Tony Pagliuca. Overall, another classic Le Orme album and a must listen."-Tom Hayes/Gnosis

After their 3 more commercially oriented releases, Orme took a breather, & came back with a surprise; they reinvented themselves as a basically acoustic quartet (vocals, violins, cellos, acoustic guitar, piano, percussion/drums) and came back with this excellent album.
I know some synth-crazy prog-heads don't share my opinion, but I love the low-key demeanor of this album, & this is one of my favorite of their works.

"One of the features that make certain rock truly 'progressive' is the...

The copies we received have a seam split at the top of jacket, otherwsie they are new and perfect.Limited edition red & black vinyl in a beautiful gatefold sleeve!

"Coinciding with the release of Contrappunti, Le Orme released their first live album titled In Concerto. The selections contained on this release are curious only by the omission of current material. 95 percent of all the chosen songs are from their raw jam days of Collage despite being performed almost three years later with three other

The 3rd album by the reformed Italian classical/symphonic rock band Le Orme, since they re-emerged in the mid 90's. This has been unavailable for a number of years now and makes a welcome return.
This features two keyboardists (one on piano, keyboards and violin and one on organ, keyboards and guitar emulator), original drummer Michi Dei Rossi and original vocalist/bassist Aldo Tapliapietra. It's very good!
Like in the old days, it includes a cover by Paul Whitehead.

First-ever post 70s vinyl reissue, in the original, beautiful gatefold sleeve!
After their 3 more commercially oriented releases, Orme took a breather, & came back with a surprise, when they reinvented themselves as a basically acoustic quartet (vocals, violins, cellos, acoustic guitar, piano, percussion/drums) and came back with the excellent Florian album. This was the follow up to Florian and is equally good or better.
I know most hard-core prog-heads don't share my opinion, but I totally and...
