Finally available again and with improved sound, and still one of the great archival releases by this band whose archival releases (some of them) generally have served them better than many of their official releases. Highly recommended!
One of the most anticipated fusion albums of this or any other year, this is the fantastic quality recording of the Soft Machine, recorded live by Radio Bremen on January 29, 1975. The lineup for this tour was: Allan Holdsworth-guitar, Mike Ratledge-electric piano and organ, Karl Jenkins-electric piano, oboe and sax, Roy Babbington-bass and John Marshall-drums. This is less then 2 months before Allan left the band and all the players play fantastically here. Licensed from the radio station and produced directly off of their master, this is a wonderful recording of an exciting concert. The band perform a lot of Bundles and a few things that would show up on Softs, but in quite different versions here, as well as some wild improvisations. Recommended to any Allan Holdsworth or fusion fan.
