João Camões viola and mey
Jean-Luc Cappozzo trumpet, flugelhorn and harmonic flute
Jean-Marc Foussat electronics, other devices and voice

"The years spent in Paris by Portuguese violist João Camões prove to be fruitful once again with this new CD, his third with French synthesist Jean-Marc Foussat (the first one was a trio with Claude Parle and the second one a duo). This time, their creative partnership involves one of the most amazing trumpeters active today, Jean-Luc Cappozzo...

"’I like to write chamber and choral music, especially for orchestra. But since it is not always easy to have orchestral works performed, the organ is the next best medium to give the composer vast tonal resources...", Moondog wrote in 1978 in the liner notes accompanying the 'Selected Works' album - the confidential American cousin of Moondog in Europe, the first album he recorded in Germany.
With 'New Sound', the Minisym Ensemble goes the opposite direction, taking the pieces for organ(s)...

This is a little bit low-key, which might make it a little hard to immediately appreciate, but listen to it with your full attention and this will definitely charm. This band is a sextet of two guitars, accordion/piano, double bass, drums and...

3.76 is the forth album by this Argentinian avant-garde rock band, featuring who contain a lot of contemporary classical music in their experimental, post RIO-rock, whatever sound.

"The 4th episode for Factor Burzaco, this marks a new step ahead in their avant-garde proposal, following on the path of bands such as Thinking Plague, Henry Cow and contemporary classical music. It's a sort of dreamlike journey in which adventurous music and emotions come together. Carolina Restuccia's vocal...

Factor Burzaco’s popularity grows day by day in the RIO/Avant-Prog world. Coming from South America, due to their sound and musical style they are also known as the “Argentinian Thinking Plague”. With this new album the group moves forward with their...

"“a gradual appearance of an image, light, or sound, especially as a transition in a cinematic work, audio recording, or performance”
No leader, just three desperate and forward-thinking heads.
In a hyper-active artistic momentum since 2018, Fade In Trio keeps subverting musical conventions for the sake of its self-imposed chimera: true to the bone...

Antoine was the bassist of the Canadian fusion/prog outfit Spaced Out, who released a number of goodies in the first decade of this century.

"Sphere is bass player and composer Antoine Fafard's fourth album, featuring Gary Husband on drums, lead synth and piano, and Jerry de Villiers Jr on lead guitar.
The album follows Ad Perpetuum, a collection that was well received by fans and critics on it's release in 2014, described by DownBeat Magazine as "a powerful example of jazz-fusion at it's...

“Perpetual Mutations follows the first collaboration between Gavin Harrison (percussion, etc) and Antoine Fafard (bass, etc), which debuted four years prior. Similar to their initial effort, all the music on this album is entirely performed by the musicians and excludes any programmed instruments.
Perpetual Mutations showcases an eclectic blend of musical arrangements and includes contributions from nine collaborators representing various nationalities and continents.”

Antoine was the bassist of the Canadian fusion/prog outfit Spaced Out, who released a number of goodies in the first decade of this century. Now he's back with an all-star cast in supporting roles!

"Two CD edition including a bonus disc along with a 32-page booklet. 2017 release from Canadian-born and UK-based bass player Antoine Fafard, who has been releasing original music for more than 15 years.

Jean-Luc Fafchamps is a pianist and composer. He studied at the Conservatoire in Mons and at Louvain University. A member of the Ictus Ensemble, he has taken part in many concert performances in large ensembles or chamber groups (performances of works by Lindberg, Reich, Aperghis, Mernier, Leroux, Harada, Francesconi, etc.) and in mixed performances, particularly accompanying dance -- multiple performances with Rosas (Anne-Teresa de Keersmaeker -- and theater -- several creations with Aperghis. He has...

New copy but with slightly torn tray card. Priced accordingly

This very good sounding radio broadcast features Fahey at the height of his early 70s psychedelic performance prowess and features three long medleys (the shortest is over 12' and the longest is nearly 30' long!). Essential for fans.

"There's no shortage of Fahey live material in the hands of collectors, but this 1973 KSAN broadcast is up there with the very best, as the guitarist plays a series of lengthy, positively...

"The title The Dance of Death and Other Plantation Favorites might lead some to believe that this is a collection of public-domain items that go back to the Deep South of the 19th century. However, while this 1964 session does contain a song titled "Dance of Death," most of the material (including that tune) was written by Fahey himself in the early '60s. So an intriguing title is simply that: an intriguing title. Nonetheless, Fahey's music does have strong southern roots.
Unaccompanied, the acoustic...

"The Mill Pond was originally released in 1997 as a double 7" that went immediately out of print. For it's 10th aniversary we're issuing it on compact disc housed in a deluxe letterpressed jacket and including an extensive booklet collecting John...

"I was transfixed by the haunting sounds and the poetic pacing of Fahres' music on this CD. Rather than the sound floating through the room, it was as if I was floating in the sound."-Morton Subotnick. With Jon Hassell! "This CD is made up of three...

A quintet of albums by the legendary British folk-rock ensemble packaged together in a slim-line slipcase. Includes
Fairport Convention
What We Did On Our Holidays
Unhalfbricking
Liege & Lief
Full House

Encore, Encore was originally released in 1979 under the title Farewell, Farewell; it was a live album documenting what was intended at the time to be the final Fairport Convention tour and featured a lineup of Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, Dave Swarbrick, a...

"Fairport Convention, the UK's most influential folk-rock band, celebrates its 50th anniversary with 50:50@50. Half the fourteen tracks were recorded at recent concerts and half in the studio. With nine compositions by members of Fairport, the album presents a mix of brand new songs and favourites from Fairport's repertoire. Two tracks feature guest lead vocals: one from Robert Plant and one from Pentangle's Jacqui McShee. The band was formed by Ashley Hutchings in 1967's 'summer of love' and became one...

“Fame and Glory collects together all the tracks FAIRPORT CONVENTION recorded for Alan Simon's rock operas Excalibur, Gaia and Anne de Bretagne. The band previously made this compilation available to its fans, but this mainstream release adds three tracks including a PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED studio recording 'Goodbye My Friends'.”

By my best count, there are five bonus tracks on this edition of the fifth Fairport album.

"Fairport Convention is a group that has always beaten the odds that's why a version of the band is working in the 21st century. By the time of this, the group's fifth album, key members Ashley Hutchings and Sandy Denny had exited the lineup, yet the group continued here without skipping a beat, for the first time without a female singer and it turned out not to make a major difference. Richard Thompson...

Fantastic sounding, remastered, bonus-track laden, large booklet with rare photos designed by the great Phil Smee-studded, remastered version of Fairport's fourth album.

"For their fourth album, Fairport Convention released what is regarded by many as not only the best record in their history but also one of the seminal English folk-rock albums of all time. This was also the album that marked the transformation of the group from, essentially, a rock band that utilized folk music (in tandem with...

The problematic sounding first live Fairport Convention album - their only with Sandy released during her lifetime - has been greatly improved on this redone version.

"The presence of Sandy Denny raises expectations for the group's first released live album. Recorded on the band's 1973 world tour, it features songs such as "Matty Groves" and "Sloth," as well as the Swarbrick instrumental "Fiddlestix," their then current single "Rosie," and a nod to the group's origins as interpreters of American..

This previously unreleased live show in excellent sound and sonic balances for a 45 year old, never-before heard tape, shows the band out on the road and really rockin' those jigs & reels much harder than you might have ever expected to hear! This is the quartet of Simon Nicol (guitar, vocals), Dave Swarbrick (violin, vocals), Dave Pegg (bass, vocals) and Dave Mattacks (drums, vocals).

"Hosts of the annual Cropredy Festival and a mere year shy of their 50th anniversary, Fairport Convention is...

Fantastic sounding, remastered, bonus-track laden, large booklet with rare photos designed by the great Phil Smee-studded, remastered version of Fairport's third album.

"Richard Thompson and Sandy Denny shine throughout this record, which is...

Fantastic sounding, remastered, bonus-track laden, large booklet with rare photos designed by the great Phil Smee-studded, remastered version of Fairport's second album, and their first with Sandy Denny.

"Sandy Denny's haunting, ethereal vocals gave Fairport a big boost on her debut with the group. A more folk-based album than their initial effort, What We Did on Our Holidays was divided between original material and a few well-chosen covers. This contains several of their greatest moments...

Showing its age a little bit, but this is overall a very listenable radio broadcast from 42 years ago!

"Live archive release from the British folk legends. From 1974 with the classic line up of Sandy Denny, Dave Pegg, Dave Mattacks, Jerry Donahue, Dave Swarbrick, and Trevor Lucas.
Recorded at the famous Long Island club My Father's Place. Sandy Denny had rejoined the band for this tour and the material was a mixture of solo material and songs associated with the band. The recording has a...

“Swedish doom metal band have a long history, but haven't released new albums too often in the 20 or so years the band has been around in one form or another.
Blessed? is their third release, and a highly intriguing one at that. Black Sabbath is an obvious influence to this slow, doom-heavy album, but in style and manner fellow Swedes Candlemass seems to have been more important. The overall sound is more similar to the second wave of doom metal that started in the 80's in general and early...

"The first LP of Faithful Breath, ”Fading Beauty” from 1974, has meanwhile become a classic of symphonic rock and can definitely be recommended. In 1977/1978 they recorded their second album ”Back on my hill” - again including the mellotron - which was...

"Faithful Breath are well-known as an '80s hard-rock band, but in their early years they played symphonic rock (like Epidaurus, also from Bochum); with mellotron and 12-string guitar. Their debut, Fading Beauty from 1974, had two long tracks of...

A number of very fine, Greek, world-class players that I’ve never heard of, along with one that I recently heard of (the bandleader) plus a few US jazz stars ALL shine on this very very good, instrumental

A number of very fine, Greek, world-class players that I’ve never heard of, along with one that I recently heard of (the bandleader) plus a few US jazz stars (Dave Weckl! Mike Stern! Brett Garsed!) ALL shine on this very very good, instrumental fusion outing.

Guthrie Govan – Guitar
Dimitris Sevdalis – Keyboards
Yiorgos Fakanas – Bass
Menios Pasialis – Drums

A fine Greek rhythm section of world-class players that I’ve never heard of back up super stunt-guitarist (possibly best known here for his work with Aristocrats) and the end result is very strong, in-yr-face, modern fusion.
I do agree with the review below that this is some of the best work I have heard from Guthrie!

“A double live fusion release is pretty rare. This one.

“Are You Are Missing Winner is the twenty-second album by British post-punk band the Fall, released in November 2001. Since the bands last record Mark E Smith had replaced the entire line up. The album was recorded very quickly and very much on the cheap and band member Ben Pritchard described it as a very miserable experience.
The influence of Rockabilly is very much seen throughout the album and saw them covering Lead Belly's 'The Bourgeois Blues'.
This re-issue of the 2001 album comes.

“The Fall's second studio album, reissued as a 3CD clamshell box-set. "Dragnet" is the second studio album - released 26th October 1979 -this edition celebrates the fortieth anniversary of this seminal album. Originally released through record label Step-Forward, it predicated 2 major factors in the group's career - high productivity and high group turnover.
Alongside the full album are several b-sides and alternative takes plus live shows from Retford in 1979 and Los Angeles in 1979. The boxset...

“The Fall were an English post-punk band, formed in Manchester in 1976. The band existed until 2018 and was essentially built around its founder and only constant member Mark E. Smith. Initially associated with the punk movement of the late 1970s, the group’s music went through several stylistic changes over the years, but is often characterised by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, and is always underpinned by Smith’s distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics...

“Though the music recorded is very tight, with the usual sense of Fallesque urgency, the recording quality is a 6/7 out of 10, I feel.
As an audio document this bootleg is excellent , but slightly let down by the quality of the recording, but it's still a joy to listen to.”

“For a gig that was recorded unproessionally in 1980 the sound quality is definitely more than good! This little gem is a must for any Fall fan, the band sound tight and edgy, clearly at the beginning a seminal career.”

“The Fall return with the Live Uurop V111-V11 Places in sun and winter, Son on Cherry Red Records. This set is a no holds barred, warts and all collection of concert clips circa 2008-2012. This recording offers a plethora of performances that comes as close to the real thing as is possible!
The Fall fans will thrive on a bootleg buoyancy that offers the raw stage power of our nation’s saving grace! There is jus the one dip in to The Fall archives as the bells vault us in to the wondrous Wings. From...

Go on! You know you can hear Mark E singing the title before you hear a note of this! "A-NEW. FAKS. A-MER-JA!"

This was the final studio release by The Fall. Opinions varied then and now that everyone knows that this was the final studio release by The Fall, even more so. As always!

“The Fall's New Facts Emerge opens with a track that sounds a bit like a mean-spirited parody of the Fall, as an incomprehensible Mark E. Smith spouts gibberish over some random noise hovering in the...

“After the dark morass of Bend Sinister, the sound of 1988's Frenz Experiment comes as a bit of a shock. The arrangements are spare and broken down to the essentials, with the distorted guitars brought down low and Wolstencroft's drums high in the mix. Marcia Schofield had also joined the band to add keyboards. With most of the songs credited only to Smith himself, this could be seen as a solo album of sorts, or an indication of some rift within the group -- it certainly doesn't translate into the music...

“The Infotainment Scan' was originally released in 1993 and was the band 15th studio album reaching no 9 on the album chart. This set contains singles and demos as well as BBC sessions and three live shows from the era.
Compiled in conjunction with Fall expert Conway Patton and has notes by Fall guru Daryl Easlea and have been mastered by long time engineer Andy Pearce.
The Fall are an English post-punk band, formed in Manchester in 1976. The band is noted for it's prolific output: and have...

This record is definitely one of the best 90s Fall albums, now made deluxer and larger and better! You haven’t lived until you’ve heard Mark E ‘laugh’.

“Deluxe Edition of The Fall's 1996 studio album, including 12 bonus tracks. The Light User Syndrome is often acclaimed as the last classic-style Fall album, owing both to the presence of longtime personnel including Brix Smith, Karl Burns, Steve Hanley and Simon Wolstencroft, as well as it's guitar-driven post-punk sound.
Leader Mark E....
