Vanessa were a short lived Norwegian instrumental jazz/rock quartet, whose second and last album, Black and White, was released by Compendium (Hopper Tunity Box! Henry Cow Concerts)!
This newly discovered, never before released live album shows them stretching much further than the studio albums allowed!
"Vanessa was a Norwegian rock band and jazz group, formed in 1973. The band debuted in 1975 with the album City Lips and released the album Black and White in 1976. The band was working on its third album when the group disbanded in 1978, but before they gave up completely, they managed to play a number of legendary concerts.
A typical Vanessa-on-a-good-day was this October day in 1976, where the quartet did one of [their] best live concerts. This is progressive fusion/jazz rock that is stretched out in both length and width."
