Apparently there are two ‘new’ versions of The Trip. Furio Chirico’s version released a new album 2 years ago and now there’s this.
And both bands and their releases are good and sound like old school RPI! Go figure!
"This album is the new album with new and totally unreleased songs by The Trip that Pino Sinnone (historic drummer of the group) brought back to life in 2017 with a very valid lineup that enchanted the whole of Italy in the festivals and concerts in which he participated.
From this lineup, with Andrea Ranfa, Tony Alemanno, Dave D'Avino and Carmine Capasso, who in 2021, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of "CARONTE", had already published "CARONTE 50 YEARS LATER", and with the help of the composer and pianist Max Botto the new songs of this album are born.
Spectacular guest is Nico di Palo of New Trolls, who interprets in a very heartfelt way the song "il Mio Capitano" written together with Pino Sinnone for his brother Rino.
The album is a cascade of sounds between Prog and Rock in a vein of freshness and imagination that are difficult to find in new releases. An album that can be enjoyed by enthusiasts but also by audiences less inclined to these musical genres precisely because it sounds very modern and it's nice to be able to listen to it continuously."
