Chaine and his Ulterior Lux, Jean - The Dancing Man

A long, long time ago in the early to mid 80's, a drummer from Florida used to release albums of 'free rock' or improvised rock/weirdness under the name Dimthings or Dimthingshine in funnily packaged, very homemade looking vinyl record packages with hand drawn covers. On many of his releases was an excellent bassist named Jean Chaine, who also released albums under his name in the same sort of packaging. Eventually Dimthings dissapeared, but Jean Chaine seemingly moved to Germany where I would occaisonally see his name on the back of various improv records, most notably David Moss. This trio live studio recording features Dimthings and Jean together with Spaltklang leader Markus Stauss on saxes. It was originally released on a double lp and all fits here on one CD. "...the result is a raucous meeting of rock and free jazz. Improvisation by knowledgeable players...and it's a sheer delight, thoroughly exhilarating and highly recommended."-Bryan Baker [Fazzul]
