Although not particularly well known even in their day and nearly forgotten now, Association P.C. were one of the very earliest jazz/rock, electric-jazz bands in Europe. They are probably forgotten because their 3 best known albums, Sun Rotation, Erna Morena and Rock Around The Cock, all on MPS, have never been reissued on CD!
Founded in 1969, with their first release being in 1970, they rocked and improvised pretty hard, especially considering how early they were.
This previously unreleased live recording was recorded live at Ruhrfestspiele, Vestlandhalle, Recklinghausen, May 17, 1972 as a part of session for NDR Jazz Workshop and is released here for the first time! The first disc is them doing Erna Morena live and the second is even more open! Everyone plays fabulously, but there’s some excellent, DARK organ work and guitar strangling in particular going on.
If you like early, exploratory electric jazz, you can not miss with this one.
