Hino, Terumasa - Double Rainbow CD

You know how they say ‘never judge a book by its cover’? This album is the epitime of that.
Hiding behind this goofy, friendly looking, yellow-hatted cover from 1981, which screams ‘lame fuzak’, this is some of the most 1975 Miles-style electric fusion (with the required mean-toned Yamaha organ and funky bass lines) you will ever hear.
I can just hear the executives at Sony Japan now: “Sure, Terumasa-san, we will put out your ugly music without any interference in the music. We even have a fine idea for the lp jacket.”
Look who is in the band!
Terumasa Hino-cornet
Masabumi Kikuchi-keyboards
Gil Evans-arranger
Herbie Hancock-keyboards
Kenny Kirkland-keyboards
Steve Grossman-sax
Reggie Workman-bass
Anthony Jackson-bass
Lenny White-drums
Don Alias-percussion
and that's just a partial listing!

“The album I wish Miles Davis made in 1981. Sounds like music from Get Up With It (that’s a compliment not a complaint). Bits of wah-wah pedaled electric organ. The album cover doesn’t give the listener any idea of the weirdness contained within.”-T Jordache
