Ovales is a five-piece band led by Pierre Michel, a saxist who was formerly in the very obscure although pretty great mid 70s to early 80s avant-progressive band Bise de Buse. This is a energetic instrumental music performed by Pierre on sopranino...

Much-needed reissue of a 1975 live date by this improvising ensemble who specialized in music that had a very wide dynamic range, but especially who could play extremely softly at times. The original vinyl release of this album suffered greatly from...

“Tim Catlin formed the Overtone Ensemble in 2012 in order to perform works using his self-made "Vibrissa" instruments. The Vibrissa includes twelve vertically mounted aluminum rods that are longitudinally stroked with gloved hands to produce ethereal "singing" tones.
The long sustaining nature of the rods sound and microtonal tunings allow players a sonic palette of complex textures and harmonic complexity. Expanding from the instrumentation on their first album, these new recordings utilize...

"Tim Catlin formed the Overtone Ensemble in 2012 in order to perform works using his self-made "vibrissa" instruments. Each instrument consists of 12 vertically mounted aluminum rods that are longitudinally stroked by hand to produce ethereal singing tones. The long sustaining nature of the rods' sound and microtonal tunings allow players a sonic palette of complex textures and harmonic complexity. Other instruments used include massed hand-bells, quarter-tone bells, EBowed acoustic guitars, re-tuned...

"Italian group Overture began as Sons of the Rascals back in January 2010, but it's taken a name change, a tweaking of the original line-up and several years for the group to be ready to offer their confident self-titled debut in 2018, but the wait has been very much worth it! Containing five lengthy compositions, their music mixes the keyboard dominated colour of F.E.M Prog Band and La Coscienza di Zeno with the infectious youthful spirit of Unreal City - a big influence here. Controversially....

"Under the artistic direction of Fabio Zuffanti and Rossano Villa, Luca’s ideas are enhanced with lush arrangements ranging from symphonic prog to psychedelia, hard-Crimson atmospheres, with touches of ethnic and fusion music...

"One of the most important musical partnerships in English free improvisation was the duo of Tony Oxley and Derek Bailey. Their long standing friendship began as early as 1963 with the group Joseph Holbrooke (including composer/bassist Gavin Bryars)...

Great price on this double best-of by these 2nd generation UK folkies drawn from their work from 1986-19990. "Oysterband (or the Oyster Band, as it used to be) are one of thefew outfits still burning with the fire of punk, but managing to combine it w...

"First legitimate CD reissue of one of the best US private press hard rock/progressive rock albums of the 1970s, from the master tapes. “Ruff Mix” mainly grooves in Hard Rock territory—the second track 'Peanut Butter Yoni' sounds a bit like Judas Priest with a proto-Metal feeling; but the album also has elements of Progressive Rock, Horn Rock and Pomp Rock.
Like most bands of the era, the idea was to throw out a few different styles to see if something would stick, the theory being that a major...

Turkish folk music produced by Bill Laswell and Nicky Skopelitis

Cloud Nineology is the latest CD release from the Raleigh, NC instrumental prog-fusion band Ozone Quartet and is a collection of the band's early work. The songs were previously only available on cassette. The cassettes have been sold out for some time...

A 2002 live set. As anyone who has seen them knows, they really shine in a live setting, jamming the stuff even further into the stratosphere than on their studio albums. They are a fantastic, instrumental band , heavily influenced by You-era Gong, combined with their own definitive stamp. Some of the best spacey rock music of the last 15 years has been created by the Ozrics. If you miss Gong, Pulsar, Hawkwind, etc., you will flip over them.

"If you're an Ozric Tentacles fan then you know their psychedelic rock sound. I consider them to be similar to Hawkwind, Gong and their electronica counterparts Eat Static. Gong's Steve Hillage sometimes plays his fluid style of guitar on an Ozrics or Eat Static album.
This early 90's live recording shows off their musical prowess as the Tentacles churn through classics like Erpland, Bizarre Bazaar, Ayurvedic and Kick Muck from the Pungent Effulgent album. Kick Muck is great on the studio album, but...

“Written, programmed, recorded and produced throughout 2019/20 by Ed Wynne in Blue Bubble Studios by the sea, this exploratory and diverse musical adventure comprises seven new tracks spanning 45 minutes. Inspired by the Scottish hills, valleys and beaches surrounding his studio, Wynne feels that lockdown in a strange kind of way has provided space for the Earth to breathe for a while and for people to rediscover it's resonant healing frequency.
Ozrics' synth player Silas Neptune and drummer Balázs.

2006 release from this long-lived, many-album'd band.

"Although Ozric Tentacles is the bridge between 1970s space rock and 1990s techno, they've never quite crossed that bridge themselves. They remain suspended in an approach that sounds like it could've come straight out of the recording sessions for Gong's You and Steve Hillage's Fish Rising albums from the mid 1970s, a decade before they were formed. With Ozric, you strap yourself in and hold tight as the band careens through sequencer...

This is a solo album by the long time leader of Le Orme, who left the group a few years ago to embark on a solo career. He will always be the voice of Orme, and this is a nice work. It's a 'song oriented album' and it's definitely proggy, with good..
