"Brilliant German Krautrock Underground band, famous for the collectors because of their 1971 Bacillus album. This CD contains 4 unreleased tracks from 1971 (19 minutes) recorded at a broadcast session for SWF radio. Those songs are in the vein of the...

"One of the most beautiful of all Book of Angels ensembles, Mycale is an evocative a cappella vocal quartet featuring four of the most creative voices in New Music. In their second CD release they are tighter than ever and approach the Masada music...

This is modern, cosmic space rock of the highest order. It doesn't sound 45 years old, but I found it very reminiscent of all the things I like about Amon Düül II. Hugely recommended!

There’s a confounding nature to the comfort constructed by The Myrrors throughout the flawless forty minutes of “Entranced Earth,” the third full-length album from the transcendentally-tuned, Tuscon-tied desert die-hards (and their second for Beyond Beyond Is Beyond Records).
Those looking for terra firma – for..

"If you turn your eyes to gaze even momentarily at the current state of our shared human environment, you’ll be forgiven for thinking it may be an unusual time to spend much time in consideration of “victory.” The forces that seek to stall progress and the forces that seek to pollute progress are intertwined, the path to progress choked, gasping for the breath of new ideas. It’s against this backdrop that we reconnect with the The Myrrors, and their beautiful, bewildering new album, “Hasta La Victoria...

"Their first album of new studio recordings in over two decades. Better known to many as Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares (Grammy winner for Best Traditional Folk Recording), BooCheeMish sees the esteemed Bulgarian choir performing together with erstwhile 4AD Records label mate Lisa Gerrard (co-founder of the duo Dead Can Dance) on several tracks, thereby uniting two of the most distinctive vocal acts working in music. In successfully connecting Bulgarian folklore with other traditions and cultures, the...

“Mythic Sunship's sound has been described as "the ethos of free jazz in a doom setting". On Another Shape Of Psychedelic Music, recorded and mixed in the studio of Causa Sui's Jonas Munk, the band goes even further and lets saxophone burn into the mix. It's a wildfire of ideas that travel far on a smoky haze of cosmic krautrock, stoner, doom, heavy psych, modal jazz and even drifts into Afrobeat. Jonas Munk joins these live sessions on guitar on a few tracks as well, making up a screaming cacophony of...

"If Mythic Sunship aren't the shape of psychedelic music to come, it's in no small part because there are so few out there who could hope to match what they do."-The Obelisk

“Mythic Sunship played three shows at the 2019 edition of Roadburn. Changing Shapes documents the most ferocious and courageous of the three.
It follows 2018's Another Shape Of Psychedelic Music. Changing Shapes is a continuation of those ideas, not just a live performance of previous material (only two tracks from...

"Bridging the gap between heavy riff-worship and expansive, free-jazz experimentation alongside perfectly timed outbursts of psychedelic spontaneity is no easy task, but Copenhagen’s MYTHIC SUNSHIP embrace every facet of that challenge with an awe-inspiring ease. Having made a name for themselves by incorporating John Coltrane-style jazz elements into the world of modern psychedelic music, there is something intensely alluring about a band that enforces a scorched earth policy when it comes to looking...

“With their new album Wildfire, renowned Copenhagen-quintet Mythic Sunship begins a new chapter of the free-form rock journey that has seen them put out a critically acclaimed album annually for the last five years and made them one of Europe's most interesting new psychedelic bands.
Ripping apart the foundation that the previous albums were built upon, the group has reinvented itself to present an album showcasing the band at it's core and most primal form. Recorded over the course of four intense...

“Mythica were a folk & poetry band from Oxford, formed by Pete Dobson (guitar, vocals), Pete Lynch (violin, guitar, banjo) and Arf Billington (harmonica, vocals).
They recorded several times for the BBC, a demo album at Zella and also demos at George Martin AIR Recorded in the Summer of 1969 and predating COB's debut to which this LP has similarities in tone and compositions. Sleeve notes by the band.
A significant addition to Britain's historic Folk Rock recordings it's one to file alongside...

"Mythopoetry is the debut album of the Norwegian progressive rock act Mythopoeic Mind. The project is the brainchild of Steinar Børve, saxophonist and founding member of the RIO-/Cantebury-inspired instrumental band Panzerpappa who´s merits include playing and recording with Cantebury legend Richard Sinclair. Although Cantebury still is an important musical inspiration to Børve, Mythopoeic Mind has a stronger flavour of symphonic rock than anything he has done before.
The album was recorded during...

First-ever reissue from the masters!

Second and last really good album by this this long lived German band who may even still be active today. But this early work, from 1973, and on Kosmiche Musik delivered the goods. More of a straighforward Krautrock/spacerock band this time around with pulsing, echo-plexed guitars, etc.

"...Dreamlab befitted its title as one of the dreamiest and trippy of cosmic music albums, a wonder world of flutes, mellotron and synthesizers. Mysterious and totally.

“Ohr present a reissue of Mythos' self-titled album, originally released in 1972. Mythos was formed in 1969 on the initiative of Stephan Kaske (flute, keyboards, vocals, guitar), who found two comrades-in-arms in Harald Weisse (bass) and Thomas Hildebrand (drums). Various performances impressed label boss and talent scout Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser so much that the band was able to release their debut album on the Ohr label in 1972.
On Mythos the band realized a mixture of art rock and psychedelic with...

"Quasar was recorded in 1980, a completely harmonious blend of groove, analog synthie work and Krautrock. Similar to the former combatants Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze, Kaske had found his way. A successful way until today. "Quasar" appeared on the...

"A major work of electronic avant-garde -- high quality deep esoterica of the weird and spooky kind."-Alan Freeman

Lost-in-time kosmische/kraut/avant-garde artifact produced by Toby Robinson, aka The Mad Twiddler, circa 1975 for his private Pyramid label. Tolkien-inspired dark ambient soundscapes with spooky/ritualistic atmosphere, treated percussions, gongs and guitars, trippy Hammond and Mini-Moog, tape loops, weird noises, and drones...
File under dark ambient, proto-industrial, kraut...

“Two years after «Rien Faire», their first eponymous album, the trio (bass, keyboards, drums, vocals) from Lyon delivers their latest contribution to the revival of songwriting made in France. Nine small surrealist poems whose soft consonant sounds blossom through falsely naive melodies and which, in spite of their complexity, resound like so many evidences.
A pop of goldsmith coiled in a rough and noisy case considering the stripped arrangements, borrowed of roughness and of a gracious beau

The Muffins were a Washington, D.C. area band who existed from 1974-81 and then again with their best-known line-up still intact from 1993-2015. They released three albums during their original lifetime and six albums during their second life.
They were called, "...the finest progressive band that America produced...even at it's most complicated, (they) sounded effortless & convincing” by Fred Frith. They also acted as Fred’s backing band on his first post-Henry Cow solo album...
