"2011 transfer of a digital master. Track times identical to the Ryko edition. The booklet has been folded differently to restore the Sgt Pepper parody as the front cover."
The Mothers' 3rd album, recorded in 1967, and unbelievably assured and nervy, as Frank takes on the falseness of American culture AND the hippie movement. Unbelievably sophisticated production chops on this one, which is Frank's first true masterpiece of the editing block, and possibly his greatest achievement in that form. Brilliant, scathing, angry, funny and mean-spirited, this was one of the holy trinity of acid albums for me back in the day and it made me what I am today, and it even includes some beautiful interludes as well. I can't say enough good things about this one. (And I don't remember my lp copy bought when I was 15 having Frank's name stuck on the spine before the Mother's name, but for simplicity and filing sake, I'll do it too)
