A more "pop"-like album from Steve. Not some sell-out, although one song gets very "straight"(possibly a "single"...?)....most here are tastefully arranged and played (of course). There's lots of variation....and sounds like the next natural step from ,say, Lightbulb Sun era Porcupine Tree(no bad thing really to these ears). Anyway....I feel that there's lots of reaction to today's weird political climate....but none stated outright(also one of Mr. Wilson's talents....tasteful lyrics!). Not as instantly stunning as his other classic works ,but a fine album that has more tune and hooks than some of his last few releases. A grower! I hope it expands his audience.
