Over 15 years later, their debut is released on vinyl for the first time!
Really nice debut release by this four piece classic-styled progressive outfit from Finland. There's an excellent female vocalist, as well as guitars/flute, a keyboardist who also doubles on drums (or a drummer who also doubles on keyboards) and bass. So, a very full sound from just these four.
Six songs that vary in length between 6-9 minutes, which means that there is room for everyone to breathe. The general sound is dictated by singer Paivi Kylmala's strong folk background, along with the fact that the guitars and keyboards are often dueling it out for supremacy.
There aren't a ton of bands doing this sort of thing in Finland, but the ones that I know of are pretty excellent to which you can add Viima and this 1st album!
