Back in the day (I'm dating myself nicely here) in the very, very early 80's, this very nicely packaged double album came out from the ultra hip Disques Du Crepuscule was released. It featured a wide range arty and post-classical musicians and spoken word artists, and was a refreshing, dare I say 'beautiful' work amongst the generally new wave tenor of the times. This is a snapshot from a long time ago, and probably won't be as impressive nowadays, when there is so much music available in so many styles, but it's still a very good listen and features: Peter Gordon, The French Impressionists (Aztec Camera related), Wim Mertens, Cecile Bruynoghe, The Durutti Column, Richard Jobson, Marguerite Duras, DNA, The Names, Winston Tong, Orange Juice, Arthur Russell and William Burroughs.
