"Recorded December 15, 2015 in Brooklyn, New York. This is Polish multi-instrumentalist Mat Walerian's third CD, all for ESP and all with Matthew Shipp. Walerian's first album was the last new release approved by ESP-Disk's founder Bernard Stollman.
This Is Beautiful Because We Are Beautiful People takes its title from something William Parker said during the recording session; it is also Parker's first time back in the studio for ESP since his first released appearance on record in 1973, appearing on Frank Lowe's 1973 album Black Beings - an album of outtakes from the same session was released in 2011, The Loweski.
TIBBWABP is also noteworthy as Shipp's recorded debut on organ. Shipp says of Walerian, "Mat approaches his instruments in a non-traditional way. He is a conceptualist and has a different personality on each instrument."
