Unique and quite good first album by this 'progressive rock/jazz fusion experience' (as it sez on the label), who really are a progressive rock/jazz experience! Considering that these musicians all come from the alternative/underground side of rock, this actually is heavy jazz/rock that does not slip into metal territory (which is what I expected) and doesn't wimp out either. This is definitely one of the faces of jazz in the future; when I was very young, I got into jazz via the jazz/rock experiments of Soft Machine, The Mothers of Invention, Hatfield, etc. It would be great to learn that some young'uns are able to do the same thing through T.R.A.M.
