This reissues the three albums originally released by Ogun documenting a 1977 session (The Longest Night volumes one and two) and a 1993 session (Corner to Corner) by one of the founders of non-idiomatic free improvisation and one of his longest serving musical partners (even though the partnership was not continuous), it went from the beginning to the end of John's career. This is joyful but thorny stuff; John's playing a very stripped down kit and this the first session at least is the quietly busy sound that has been referred to as 'insect music' by both its adherents and detractors.
