Very much like Frank Zappa And The Mothers, Rain's complex compositions are based on the skills of modern classic composers such as Varèse and Stravinsky. As a strong influence they've also mentioned Vanilla Fudge. Rain was Carl Jorgen Kionig (drums, percussion), Knut Heljar Hagen (organ, synthesizers, vocals), and Asmund Feidje (guitar, vocals). Make the Day Break was recorded live in a studio in 1974. After Norsk Suite, the music of this album takes you a step further with highly-developed musical skills and great composition, strong and tightly played. The title-track is just superb, and the whole album is stunning. This album has never been released before, and Norway's music scene should be proud of this great band."
