First-ever legit reissue from this really underground, American progressive/hard rock band, who released this, their only release in 1971. If you dig this raw, heavy sound, this is highly recommended.
"Micah is a very little-known American underground rock band from the early '70s. Their music is a great blend of American hard/psychedelic rock and British art/symphonic rock. I'm Only One Man was created as a suite, each track very well composed and played with immense high standards with great Hammond organ, amazing fuzz guitars, powerful drums, driven bass lines and great vocals. You would expect this type of album from a major release on labels such as Epic/CBS. Micah is Gary Ohlson on organ and vocals, George Wolff on percussion and vocals, Martin Horne is the lead guitarist, Gus Hernandez is the bass guitarist, and Bob Rowe is the lead vocalist. If you like the early albums of Quatermass, If, Cressida, Beggar's Opera, Arcadium, and Deep Purple, you will love this one. It is way more sophisticated than other major label releases of the same period. This album makes the fuzz-guitar aficionados happy as well as those into great Hammond sounds. Extra cool, extra heavy, and extra psychedelic with a progressive touch."
"Micah started in Terre Haute, Indiana before relocating to upstate New York. "I'm Only One Man" is head and shoulders above most of these hard rock / psych US private pressings from 1971. Long runs of guitar and organ solos, with a great vibe throughout. I love the way the Hammond is played in a choppy manner, as well as the wah wah guitar solos. Just nonstop kickass music, the way you want all of these type of rare private albums to sound, but rarely do. Only bummer is that Side 2 is only 11 minutes long."-Tom Hayes
