This is a mixture of very nice but 'standard style' Brazilian jazz and the very unstandard stylings of Hermeto Pascoal.
"Mente Clara (Clear Mind, named after a Hermeto Pascoal composition) is a combo from Tatuí, a small city in São Paulo, Brazil. They follow the musical idiom Hermeto created called "universal music": complex harmonies, structures and rhythms, from jazz to ethnic/regional stylings, played with complete musical freedom. On their second album the band keep developing their sound, with more mature compositions, astounding musicianship and a quite improved overall production."
