Algumia is a precious Mediterranean jewel; like the coral necklaces so typical from this beautiful town. If you've been to Alghero at least once, you know it's a place totally different from any other place in Sardinia with the sea, the people, the language, the narrow streets of the historic section of town, the beautiful churches. Then there is the music, where mandolas and accordions make it sound like Neapolitan music, fado, or even tango and the songs: everybody knows these songs, they became traditional even if they actually have an author, they are part of everyone's memory, part of the people's history. Algumia includes ten songs written by various song-writers. Each song is filled with the traditional elements of Alghero that Franca Masu performs alongside many musicians, who are some of the best players of their instruments. Double-bass, accordion, mandolas, percussions, classic guitar, cello, oud and cajon, are some of the instruments that produce the clear and familiar sound of this region.
