Originally released in the early 1990's on the extremely hip Factory Label (Joy Division, etc.), Martland, a 'pedigreed' young avant-classical composer, confounded everyone with this - his first album - by being signed to a rock label. No compromises were made with Martland's music, but the fact that he was on Factory gave the media a reason to actually pay attention to a record of contemporary classical music by a (gasp) living composer! He was hugely featured in the press as the new face of classical music, & hopefully people actually even listened to his music as well! This is a large scale orchestral work and a lengthy piano duo, recently reissued on the also interesting Catalyst label, and now yours for a song!
