05-Digatone DIG 002
The second release from the Austrian Digatone label who previously released the splendid, now completely sold out, Klockwerk Orange set. Now they return with a second release, also drawn from an Austrian progressive rock outfit.
Isaiah released one, now very rare album on CBS in 1975. The group lineup as featured on their album was
Gerd Raabe-vocals, flute, guitar, percussion
Edu Weber-lead guitar, 12 string guitar, backing vocals
Hans Gasser-bass
Walter Reschauer-drums
Erwin Eltz-trumpet, flugelhorn
There's a lot of guitar and flute fronting this album and it's a pretty good (not incredible, imo) album.
The real killer with this set is the second album which has all previously unreleased, really great demos from 1973-1977. This album is what should have come out as this is the great stuff by this band, featuring an extended lineup of the above musicians, as well as piano, Fender Rhodes, keyboards, guitar, tenor sax & clarinet by five additional musicians!
Both album are also included on CD, and this package is a stunning gatefold double with liner notes in German and English. Based on how fast the label (and us!) sold out of Klockwerk Orange, I would advise not waiting too long to pick this up!
