I never heard the Groundhogs back in their early 70s heyday, so it was with great pleasure that I recently got to hear these remastered versions of their classics and I have to report back that I wish that I had heard them then! Led by guitarist/singer/songwriter Tony McPhee and ably backed by Peter Cruickshank-bass and Ken Pustelnik-drums, this is excellent progressive blues, with the accent on progressive. Good songs, good playing and good ideas. Originally released March, 1972 and featuring a great cover by comic artist Neal Adams!
