One of the most immediately identifiable voices on saxophone and one of the originators of the 'Nordic jazz' sound. This features an ECM all-star band: Jan Garbarek-saxes, Bill Connors-guitars, John Taylor-organ and piano and Jack DeJohnette-drums. This is kind of quietly brooding and dark-hued. There was an amazingly high number of great albums being released on ECM during the 1970s and this is one of many beautiful, enjoyable, stupendously recorded classics.
