We did a deep dig into the lost warehouse to come up with these; they are new and unplayed, but they’ve been sitting for over 30 years and there may be small corner dings, seam splits from travel, etc etc.
These are the original issues on Points East, which was ReR’s pre-CD vinyl label ‘dedicated solely to new music from Central Europe’.

“Der Expander des Fortschritts was founded in 1986. The “risk group” described itself as “pop musique concrète” or “abstract pop”. Der Expander des Fortschritts relied on disharmony and ruptures, which resulted in radio plays in a song format; the GDR as a real-socialist satire provided its material. Even the band’s name was a cultural appropriation of the superstructure by the substructure: “progress” was a fetishized word in the GDR, factory sports clubs would add it to their name, solidarity concerts would use it as a motto.”

“The Expander of Progress was a band from East Berlin and one of the most important representatives of the other bands in the GDR [East Germany]. As one of the first GDR underground bands, they dedicated themselves to avant-garde and experimental music.
With their musical orientation towards avant-garde and experimental music, they were one of the style founders of these musical styles in the GDR. In 1988 and 1989, two underground tapes, Urgreif Horde Mensch and The Expander of Progress, were released, followed by a release on the British label Recommanded Records / Points East and an album called Ad Acta in 1990 on Zong, formerly Amiga / VEB Deutsche Schallplatte.
At the end of 1990, the attempt to continue working as a quartet under the name Four For Progress failed.”-Wikipedia
