Experimental electronic musician Thomas Dimuzio has produced animpressive body of solo and collaborative work over the course of his15-year career. From his renowned recordings for RRRecords, such asSonicism and Markoff Process, to the classic Headlock (RR) and lastyear's Mono::Poly (Asphodel/Gench), Dimuzio is a true sonic alchemistwho can seemingly create musical events out of almost anything. Thosepaying close attention to this innovative sound artist's recorded activities are also familiar with the large and compelling body of work Dimuzio has produced for compilation projects. This material has finally been united by RR Megacorp into a single release, the aptly named Slew. The disc pools more than a decade of studio works spanning compilations issued by RRRecords, Tzadik, Alku, Realization, Digital Narcis, Self Abuse, Cuneiform and other groundbreaking labels. More than an anthology of compilation tracks, Slew documents the evolution of an artist dedicated to an immersive world of sound and aural vision. Bringing together many out of print and hard to find gems, Slew blurs the bounds of electro-acoustic, digital musique concrete, drone, noise, dark ambient and industrial. Dimuzio's sonic reworkings range from an Elvis impersonator (on parade), junkyard talk, electric guitar, piano, voice, clarinet, feed-back and shortwave sounds to cellist Tom Cora and the music of Dr. Nerve. Slew charts the path of a prolific sound artist and composer who has never been content to rest on his laurels, and points a refernce to where his future musical journeys may take him.
