"Good album! It continues a line of the work we did together in 1973 that no-one else has quite followed."- Robert Fripp.
David Cross is, of course, the vioilinist who was with King Crimson during their greatest (imo) period. This is a band he's assembled with a vocalist (who doesn't sound "like" Wetton, but has a somewhat similar style and is a good singer), guitar, bass and drums, with himself on electric violins and keyboards. This is a very good and even really accessible album of adventurous rock songs. The lyrics are even by old King Crimson lyricist Richard Palmer-James. Is it as good as Starless and Bible Black? Of course not and it's actually completely different. But it's still a very good work.
"Closer Than Skin is without doubt the most coherent and artistically successful album of rock songs released by the ex-Crimson alumni."-Sid Smith
"It is an album of modern rock and prog rock and the best I've heard this year"
- Dick Heath (The Alternative Alternative Show: June 2005)
