Charlie is best known as the bassist of Knifeworld, but he has a lot of music and styles up his sleeve and he caught me by surprise with his great first solo release.
I wasn’t surprised by this one, because I was already aware that this wasn’t going to be a ‘rock’ or ‘prog’ album and it isn’t. He delivers something between systems music, chamber music and folk music; as said about his first, The Divine Abstract, comparable (but not ‘sounding like’) an acoustic-guitar led ensemble like Aranis or Julverne or Flairck!
