A stylized teacup on the CD booklet photo, blurred like something that has almost been forgotten and a woman's name as the record title. This is the first impression of the latest offering by Cattleya". In the end "Madeleine" turns out to be a certain tea biscuit - a cookie that triggers childhood memories in novelist Marcel Proust's (1871-1922) center piece of work, "In Search of Lost Time". Like it's predecessor "le temps perdu", the second album by German-Italian piano trio "Cattleya", again refers directly to the great Frenchman's classic novel. Recorded within two days in summer 2002 at Studio Crescendo in the Belgian town of Genk by engineer Pino Guaracci, the core trio Harald Ingenhag (drums, composition), Michel Bisceglia (piano, arrangements) and Volker Heinze (bass) gets augmented by a string quartet and three soloists on several cuts, among them Belgian accordeon virtuoso Rony Verbiest."
