Ralph Carney first came to attention as a member of Tin Huey, a great, oddball, progressive + new wave outfit from Akron, Ohio who emerged in the late 70s. He then moved to California and worked with Tom Waits as his saxist for a number of years and albums. On this album, he plays all the instruments and it is an oddball, progressive + new wave album that is focused on reeds, but has a lot of other instrumentation as well. The sound of someone being quietly eccentrically musical!
