This was actually a little bit of a revelation to me, because even though I absolutely do consider myself a Can fan (man!), my interest in their albums basically ends after Soon After Babaluma, as I always felt that their albums went from being kinda magnificent throughout before then to being quite spotty.
And I still do think that, but apparently Can as a live band remained a very strong force longer than they did on record!
This is a very good recording both sonically and in terms of performance and will delight any and all!
“Can Live in Stuttgart 1975 is the first in a series of Can live concerts available in full for the first time. Originally recorded on tape, these carefully restored live albums will comprise the entirety of each show in the format of a story with a beginning, middle and end, with Can’s performances taking on a life of their own. It includes a booklet with extensive sleeve notes by novelist Alan Warner, archivist Andy Hall and manager Sandra Podmore Schmidt.
The band’s line up for this legendary 1975 performance features all four original members— Irmin Schmidt on keys, Jaki Leibezeit on drums, Michel Karoli on guitar, and Holger Czukay on bass.”
