The second release by this excellent chamber rock band from Chile. Like their first, this leans more towards the chamber (Julverne) than towards the rock (Far Corner), but it’s a fine listen. Who doesn’t want to hear a band with cello, bass clarinet AND bassoon?
“Asceta, from Chile, follows the steps of legendary/ cult bands like Univers Zéro, Nazca, Miriodor, Art Zoyd and Présent.
EREBUS, LA SUITE DE LAS SOMBRAS, Asceta’s second album, is a concept album about the ups and downs of Erebus, an enigmatic sorcerer getting into the dreams of the Asceta, who steals snippets of dreamlike music trying to transform suffering into harmony with his alchemy.”
