First there was the tribute to Ptose and now their only album, with the great Mark Beyer cover, which was originally released by AYAA in 1984, is reissued! Well, it is about time that there was a Ptose revival and their early electro-wave-experimental sound with lots of primitive electronics, drum machines and funny voices, all obviously influenced The Residents as well as by groups like Tuxedomoon, Der Plan, Pyrolater, etc, yet being unmistakably French, probably resonates even stronger today in these post-post times. As a bonus is a 1983 cassette-only release that I had never even heard of, entitled Night Of The Reptiles.
