Grupo Um - A Flor de Plastico Incinerada
rdm-Editio Princeps 018
A band I had long heard of but never actually heard until Editio Princeps started their reissue program. This is a goodie, with nice Fender Rhodes work, electric bass, drums and percussion + guests on reeds.
"Formed in 1976, Groupo Um was one of the pioneers from the Brazilian jazz and jazz-rock scene. After some years playing with well known musicians like Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti, the band (members) developed a musical language of their own. Grupo Um's third and last album, released in 1982. Here we have the same trio who recorded "Reflexões": Lelo Nazario, Rodolfo Stroeter and Zé Eduardo Nazario, plus guests Teco Cardoso and Felix Wagner. During those sessions Grupo Um recorded more material than could be placed on a vinyl record. In this special edition the outtakes will be finally added to the 1982 album."
