Flying Luttenbachers - Infection and Decline (remastered/bonus)

SKU UgExPLODE 14
A reissue of one of the must-have releases from this amazing, technical, skronk-filled, BRUTAL, 'brutal-prog' band led by Weasel Walter. Originally released in 2001, this was is the first release by the trio lineup of drums + 2 really agressive bassists, including Alex Perkolup now of Cheer-Accident and Jonathan Hischke (also of Hella and Marnie Stern). Their version of De Futura rules, & the rest of the album is good too in an exceedingly noisy and hard-edged way.

"The Flying Luttenbachers have been destroying puny minds & souls for almost 10 years with an extreme, amorphous & unlikely fusion of hardcore, free jazz, death metal bombast and modern classical style abstraction. One mere mortal critic described the current lineup as a 'violent mutant hybrid of Captain Beefheart's Magic Band, Bela Bartok and Napalm Death'....the album concludes with a devastating & faithful 16 minute version of 'De Futura', originally recorded by the seminal French prog band Magma."

"In 2001, a new line-up of The Flying Luttenbachers emerged. The new direction of the group focused on hyper-composed complexity replete with punishing dissonance and harsh electronic timbres. The group called this music "BRUTAL PROG": this wasn't prog rock for your uncle: it is NOW - ugly, apocalyptic and furious. The debut release from this line-up was issued in 2002 and has been out of print for years until now. Featuring full-frequency digital remastering, improved artwork (the way it was originally supposed to look) and 6 manic, never-before-heard bonus tracks, this definitive version of "Infection and Decline" will blow you away. Featuring Jonathan Hischke (Hella, Marnie Stern, etc.) and Alex Perkolup (Cheer-Accident, Bobby Conn, etc.) on twin bass assault and Weasel Walter on drums, this CD contains almost 80 minutes of Brutal Prog intensity."
