Asturias - Bird Eyes View CDEP

Asturias were an excellent Japanese band highly reminiscent of really good Mike Oldfield who released three albums in the late 80's and have been silent since. This is actually titled as being by (Acoustic) Asturias. This is actually titled as being by (Acoustic) Asturias and this 2004 recording is to Asturias what "Florian" was to Le Orme; a somewhat out of character, but completely wonderful and beautiful sideways move. They offer five acoustic pieces composed of the instrumentation of acoustic guitar, piano, glockenspiel, violin, clarinet, recorder, and female voice on one track. Short (25') but really nice!) "Here's an exquisite music, delicate and refined, with joyful and sensible atmospheres. The musicians are virtuosos, and this subtle chamber music sometimes recall Debussy's or Saties most melodic pieces, with also a more modern rhythmic approach". [Musea/Poseidon]
